Emily Shanks is the Region Executive for the Small Business Banking National Sales team for the West Region. She leads a team of Small Business Banking Managers, Small Business Bankers and Client Mangers focused on meeting the needs of small business customers. In addition, Emily integrates with lines of business across the enterprise, including working closely with Financial Centers, Customer Contact Centers, Commercial Banking, Global Wealth & Investment Management, Merchant and Corporate leadership in the implementation of the Small Business Banking sales and service model. The West Region consists of  California, Oregon, and Washington. We have more than 300 Small Business Bankers and Client managers in the West.

Emily joined Bank of America in 1989. She has held different positions working with both individual clients and businesses as a Banker, credit underwriter and Leader.  Emily was also the East Bay Market President for many years, where she was the senior bank executive in the market, responsible for revenue generation and delivering the full resources of Bank of America for the East Bay, including coordination of all community relations activities.

She was named one of the top 100 “Most Influential Women in San Francisco” by the San Francisco Business Times in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012-2015.  The East Bay Business Times also recognized Emily as one of the East Bay’s “2009 Distinguished Women”.

Emily graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, Maine where she majored in Business Management.  Active in her community, Emily works with many organizations.  She currently serves as Chair of the Finance Committee for Berkeley Reparatory Theatre.  She has served on other boards including California State University, East Bay Education Foundation, Oakland Chamber of Commerce, the Contra Costa Economic Partnership, Silverado District of the Boy Scouts of America, and was President of Bank of America San Francisco Lead, women’s affinity group, for two years.

Emily resides in Pleasant Hill California with her 2 boys.
