Gwen Kaplan is one of the country's foremost authorities on direct marketing. She is a successful entrepreneur, a university lecturer and an active community leader throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Marketing theories that Kaplan has successfully used in promoting the clients of Ace Mailing earned her the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the winner of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Award.  Kaplan is an instructor at the University of California Berkeley in Direct Marketing and a lecturer at Stanford University.  She is a speaker and consultant.

Ace Mailing’s CEO & Founder was honored by the California State Legislature for her contributions to creating an improved entrepreneurial environment in the State.  Kaplan was named the Small Business Advocate of the Year for the State of California by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA). She was the Chairperson of the San Francisco Small Business Network.  She is a past president of the San Francisco Small Business Commission.
Ace Mailing’s clients include large businesses and large non-profits and hundreds of small firms and non-profit organizations.
Ace Mailing, which Kaplan founded in 1977, is a full-service direct marketing company offering database creation, management and maintenance, creative services, graphic design, printing, email and postal mail services, fulfillment, and warehousing
Kaplan is widely recognized in the community for her humanitarian efforts in creating jobs for disadvantaged people and for her commitment to economic development programs.  She is an active consultant in business to business and business to consumer marketing and small business participation in business and government contracting.

Kaplan was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is an alumna of the University of Colorado Boulder.  Kaplan founded the San Francisco Professional Women's Prayer Group. She founded the Northeast Mission Business Association and was a founding member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Silicon Valley. She is an alumna of Leadership San Francisco and Leadership California and an alumna of The Anderson School at UCLA Management Development for Entrepreneurs.  She is a member of Women Presidents’ Organization, the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Council of District Merchant Associations and the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Small Business Advisory Council.
She and her husband, Stephen, live in San Francisco.
